WinSenga Update/Bulletin 4.0

Polls opened for the People’s Choice Award a week ago. Since then WinSenga has moved from #59 to #23(at the time of writing this). We still need your votes (and prayers). We believe we can win the People’s Choice Award in addition to the overall award in Software Design with your help. It is a tall order because in the now 10 years of this competition, no African team has ever won any significant award at this stage (Worldwide Finals). We intend change that statistic. Cast your votes at http://www.imaginecup.com/Competition/PCATeam.aspx?Competitionid=71&teamid=55216 . Remember that you can vote more than once. Yes, you can. So you can vote for us everyday! Thank you.

We are going 3D! We are currently working on a short 3D animation clip/movie about WinSenga, the gap it will fill, its potential, among other things. Watch this space.

In other news, as you may have already noticed from the change in the blog’s theme and the logo on the left top corner, WinSenga has changed its look to something… cooler:

The splash screen has changed to:

This is what you see when you start the application:

To record the heart beat, you now see something like this:

WinSenga Update/Bulletin 3.0

It is official now. The polls have opened for the Microsoft Imagine Cup 2012 Worldwide Finals People’s Choice Award. You can vote for WinSenga by following this link.

So why should you vote for us? Well, other than the content on the blog, there’s a presentation at http://prezi.com/icnuggjqwfnr/winsenga-prezume/ that should answer that question.

The People’s Choice Award is worth $10,000. That would be directed towards product development and greatly subsidize the price of the solution at the time of market entry.

We have also created a YouTube channel called teamcipher256 where you can find all videos relating to the project. Here are the videos there so far:

Introducing WnSenga:

Update/Bulletin 2.0

Last Friday, Winsenga got the rare opportunity to present at the Mara Innovation launch. The presentation “Innovation to Business: Winsenga” by Joshua focused on the innovation Winsenga is, the problems it addresses, the opportunities it presents (in solving those problems, among them saving the lives of innumerable mothers especially in Sub-Saharan Africa), and how it will turn into a business.

Mara Innovation is an initiative of Mara Foundation to avail space, funding/capital and other resources (like internet) to any one with an innovation/idea that they believe it feasible and thus poses great business potential. The other initiative by Mara Foundation is Mara Launch Pad that provides office space, internet and other resources to start ups.
